Voice - The song is musical and complex and varies geographically. Generally, it is made up of whistles, some wheezy and drawled. The tone is rather cheerful. It may resemble "pee bee bee chee zee-zee". The alarm note is a diagnostic "pink" or "chink". In far northern areas it may sing all night long while in the Pacific Northwest fewer sing at night.
